Neighbourhoud of Nations
For the first time Creative Collective Arts Center has received an
invitation to represent Russian-speaking community culture during
the annual Sunoco "Welcome America" festival Neighborhood of Nations.
When - Sunday, June 30, 12 PM. to 7 PM. Where - Memorial Hall,
Fairmount Park. What - "Neighborhood of Nations"
festival.
"Russian Mosaic" Russian "skomorokhy" will great you
and traditional food will be available. Two tables will feature community
artists Mrs. Lilia Moldavskaia - Jewish holidays related craft Mr. Valery
Iskhakov - national craft from Uzbekistan. Concert part will start at 1 PM in
Pavilion #2 Mark Sobol's ensemble - traditional Kleizmer and
jazz interpretations of well-known Russian songs. 0.5 hour Mark Sobol -
keyboard Shimon Suissa - drums Paul Berman - guitar Jacob Lyulko -
soprano-saxophone 4:30 PM. Pavilion #2 0.5 hour Traditional Russian and
Belo Russian songs in contemporary interpretation. Urie Bogatkevitch -
composer and singer Ilona Bogatkevitch - singer. 6:00 PM. Pavilion #2. 0.5
hour "The Classical Musical Family" - Pavel, Zoya and Julie
Zarukin "Lights suite" - original composition for four-hands piano. Urie
Zarukin - d.m.a in piano Zoya Zarukin - m.m. in piano. Singing sensation -
student of the Westminster Choir college - Julie Zarukin: "Amazing Grace" -
gospel "Can't take it away from me" - Gershvin "Dove sono I bei Momenti" -
Mozart.
Directions to Memorial Hall: Take interstate 76 (Schuylkill
Expressway) to the Montgomery Drive Exit. Turn toward Belmont Avenue (Note: if
you were westbound on the expressway you will make a left, if you were eastbound
you will make a right.) Go to the first traffic signal (Belmont Avenue) and make
a left. Go to the next traffic signal (North Concourse Drive) and make a left.
Memorial Hall is about 300 yards up North Concourse Drive on your left. There is
plenty of free parking in the area around Memorial Hall.
