The Financial Services Volunteer Corps, the Association of Russia's Regional Banks and the bank rating agency RusRating are delighted to invite you to the third annual conference in New York on Investment Opportunities in Russian Banking.

This year’s conference includes a more expansive overview of new opportunities beyond Russia, to include the other regions once associated with the Soviet Union.  The entire “Russian-Speaking” area is now a hotbed for investors with an interest in diversifying holdings.  This conference will explore the current and future landscape of investing within the entire region.

Topics include:

  • The rate in which banks are evolving and spreading throughout the region; which are the front-runners
  • Ways in which banks are transforming other sectors of the region’s economies
  • Changes in product offerings in order to attract international investors, one example is with the development of a mortgage lending practice
  • IPO potential
  • Credit bureau development
  • Risk management and governance in a Basel II context

Presenters:

Currently, 15 banks are sending senior representatives from Russia and its neighbors.  A sampling of the confirmed speakers on the Russia-side, include the following:

Andrei Kozlov, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Russia

Anatoly Aksakov, Deputy Chairman, Duma Committee for Financial Markets

Alexei Savatyugin, Head of Department for Banking Affairs, Ministry of Finance

Anna Papova, Department Head, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade

Conference Format:

Beyond the in-depth sessions being brought to conference participants, we are also organizing a series of evening events, including a reception the first night of the conference and a cruise around the New York harbor the second night.  Additionally, in place of one of the regular sessions, a debate is being organized on the topic of “This House Believes that the Future Belongs to Global Banks”.
