The Mid-Atlantic-Russia Business Council brings American Delegation

 to the 6th International Specialized Exhibition “Biotech World 2008” in Moscow

                                    

The Mid-Atlantic – Russia Business Council (MARBC), serving as a partner of the International Congress “Biotechnology: State of the Art and Prospects of Development,” is pleased to announce that it will be organizing American participation at the International Conference “Water, biological objects and food” and the 6th International Specialized Exhibition “Biotech World 2008,” which will be held on March 11-13, 2008 in the House of the Moscow Government.

The International Exhibition “Biotech World” is one of the largest exhibitions representing leading manufacturers of biological products for pharmaceutical, food and agricultural industries, veterinary medicine, geology and industrial enterprises. It annually attracts a wide variety of companies and producers from all over the world. In 2008 the International Conference will be held on the topic “Water, biological objects and food” and will cover such questions as water structure and its biological functions, problems of quality, the effect of water on food, etc.

American participation at the International exhibition and conference, arranged by the Mid-Atlantic-Russia Business Council, has been one of the significant events of the International Congress “Biotechnology: State of the Art and Prospects of Development.” As it did in 2007, in 2008 the Mid-Atlantic-Russia Business Council under the chairmanship of Val Kogan, President of the Council and Member of the Organizing Committee of the International Congress, will also serve as an organizer of the Russian-American symposium “Issues of Current Importance of Russia-USA Cooperation in the Field of Biotechnology: Experience in Regional Bio-Techno Parks Development in the USA and Russia.” Some topics that will be discussed during the symposium include: collaboration of the leading biotechnological regions of Russia and the United States, cooperation in the field of regional bio-techno parks development, and the Russian-American partnership in the field of biotechnology, including Russian participation in the Russian-American Innovation Technology Week (RANIT) and BIO 2008, held in June 2009 in San-Diego and Philadelphia.

 In 2007 during the Russian-American symposium held in the frames of the International Congress “Biotechnology: State of the Art and Prospects of Development” representatives of some leading Russian and American companies and associations presented their reports. Some of the American presenters were: Val Kogan, President, Mid-Atlantic - Russia Business Council, John Gallagher, Chairman, United States Industry Coalition, Doros Platika, President CEO, Pittsburg Life Sciences Greenhouse, Dmitry Kulish, Chairman of the Board of Directors, DKIS LLC, Anton Titov, Vice-President of Delta Private Equity, Vladislav Ugrjumov, Baker & McKenzie, Stanley Satz, President and Chief Scientific Officer, Bio-Nucleonics Inc., Laura Williams, ISTC Deputy Executive Director.

            In the framework of the Congress the Mid-Atlantic-Russia Business Council will also arrange an exhibition of the American biotechnological companies conducting business in Russia. It will include presentations of the latest biotechnological achievements of American companies conducting business in the Russian market or considering entering Russian market in the nearest future.
