World Russian Forum: New Century, New Presidents, New Perspectives
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - The Pennsylvania-Russia Business Council is pleased to bring to your attention a conference on the political and economic situation in Russia and new ideas for U.S.- Russian Partnership, May 4 - 5, 2001 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel, New York, NY. Sessions will begin 9:00am, Friday, May 4th, 2001. The Conference is presented by the Kontinent USA Media Group & Russia House in cooperation with the Pennsylvania-Russia Business Council along with the Eurasia Group, Business Council for the United Nations, U.S.-Russia Business Council, UBS PaineWebber, Nikoil, Sistema, Tyumen Oil, Logos Group, RosBusinessConsulting, Media Press, and others.
DATE: May 4-5, 2001 Opening speeches during the New York Conference will be presented by Congressman Curt Weldon, Co-Chair of the U.S. Congress - Russian Duma Working Group, and Duma Member Dmitry Rogozin, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the State Duma. Subsequent sessions will focus on examples of US-Russian business cooperation including specific business proposals in telecommunications, oil and gas, technology transfer, and ecology. Further discussions will examine cooperation in areas such as culture, science, public health, law enforcement and education, as well as the role of the Russian community in the United States in the process of Russia's integration into the community of free and democratic nations. Following the event, a summary of the proceedings will be presented to the United States Congress. The Russian delegation will also be in Washington DC, May 8, 2001 at the US Senate, Hart Senate Office Building, Room 708 for meetings and discussions with different US government agencies and Members of Congress.
