KRASNODAR KRAI, RUSSIA - The
Mid-Atlantic - Russia Business Council
in support of the Ministry for Economic Development and Trade of the Russian
Federation and the Krasnodar Krai
Administration announces the Kuban-2003
Forum to take place in Sochi
(Dagomys), Russia from October 9 to 12, 2003. The Forum is supported by the Council of Federation of the
RF Federal Assembly, the State Duma of the RF Federal Assembly, Government of
the Russian Federation, Southern Federal Okrug, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of
the Russian Federation, and the Ministry of Transport of the Russian
Federation. The 2003 Forum will
focus on Business and Investment Opportunities in the Russian Federation.
Forum
participants will include deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation,
heads and key officials of Ministries and departments, representatives of major
international financial institutions and international organizations,
high-ranking officials of the Embassies and Trade representations of foreign
states in Russia, heads of the Russian regions and municipalities, Russian and
international companies interested in business and investment cooperation with
Krasnodar Krai and other Russian regions.
Among the major
objectives of the Forum will be to:
- Discuss issues of
investment development of regions and international cooperation,
conditions for economic growth at the regional and municipal levels;
- Share experience in
reforms of the branches of industry, agro-industrial complex, resort
complex, development of land markets and perspectives for investors;
- Investigate the role and
perspectives of use of information and telecommunication technologies in
regional investment processes;
- Act as an effective tool
for positioning of Russia at the world investment markets and promotion of
interests of the regions at the Federal level.
FORUM EVENTS:
The Forum
will be held in the form of plenary sessions, roundtables, exhibitions and
presentations of investment projects, territories, business meetings and
negotiations. The final proposals
that will be developed during the Forum discussions will be summarized and
submitted to the Government of the Russian Federation, State Duma of the
Russian Federation, Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian
Federation, relevant Ministries and Departments for further consideration and implementation.
Exhibitions

agriculture & food processing, housing and utilities sectors).

The Second
International Economic Forum "Kuban-2003" will be held from October 9-12,
2003 at the "Dagomys" Spa (Sochi), the largest and most popular resort on the Black
Sea Coast of Russia. The complex
is well-known as a host to international festivals, contests, sporting events,
congresses, seminars, symposia, congresses, exhibitions, trade fairs and
presentations, and has been used by President Vladimir Putin for top-level meetings.
As a
partnering organization for the Kuban Forum, the Mid-Atlantic - Russia
Business Council is
bringing an American delegation and organizing the Russian-American section of
the Forum to provide business opportunities between Russian and American
companies.
